About the Northeast Florida Utility Authority
The NFLU coordinates with local governments, utility providers and professional partners to support the delivery and development of essential utility services throughout Nassau County. Governed by the elected members of the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners, NFLU helps advance infrastructure projects, strengthen regional partnerships and address the community's current and future utility needs.
Our Partners
Utility services throughout Nassau County are provided through public and private utility partnerships and county departments. These partners share the passion to provide outstanding services.
Water & Wastewater Services
Water and Wastewater services in the unincorporated suburban areas are provided through interlocal agreements with non-profit government utility agencies. Partners include JEA and Florida Government Utility Authority (FGUA).
Electric Services
Electrical Service is provided by Florida Power & Light (FPL), Florida Public Utilities (FPU), and Okefenoke Rural Electric Membership Corporation (OREMC).
Storm Water
Nassau County’s Stormwater and Drainage Management Department was created in 2022 to manage and provide improved oversight of the water quality and quantity in the area as required by the EPA and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Solid Waste
Nassau County’s Solid Waste Division manages the collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclables, while maintaining quality customer service and building efficient, environmentally responsible systems and services
Natural Gas
Where available, Natural Gas is provided through FPU
